Go for Gold this Spring
Go for Gold this Spring- Hair Color Blog
Dying or highlighting can be a drastic move (think purple, green or blue), or something as subtle as a few face framing highlights. Last year the hair color trends were drastic and more extreme, this season the colors are more low maintenance and casual and feature the color of royalty, gold.
For blondes, ask your colorist to weave different shades of golden blonde highlights that are 2-3 tones lighter than your base shade. The colors should be painted on in thin, random patterns for the most natural look.
If you haven’t tried highlights at all and are curious about trying them, try babylights, a trend we’ve discussed here. Babylights incorporate some color in a very subtle way; they are a perfect way to freshen your color for spring. You can also try a very subtle golden balayage if you want a little more contrast to your color.
Brunettes go for gold this spring as well. Muted golden highlights with subtle shimmering flecks brighten the hair as it adds dimension and shine. Cooler, ashy tones that have been around for so long are slowly making their exit.
We encourage you to “go for gold” this spring, be it in a subtle or more noticeable way. It’s a color that works well with all tones and is very flattering.
