WIDE TOOTH COMB
If you are combing your wig when it is wet you’ll want use a wide tooth comb to get out tangles. A fine toothed comb can cause more pulling and can cause hair on the wig to fall out. A wide tooth comb is gentler on the hair and is a better choice on wet hair.
FINE TOOTH COMB
After you’ve gotten all the hair tangle-free and parted your wig, you will need some finishing touches. A fine tooth comb is good for getting the hairs all in place. Your wig you may need a more precise part and a fine tooth comb is the tool to use. Use this to finish up and perfect your wig’s part.
A RAT TAIL COMB
A rat tail is more than just a comb with a handle. A rat tail comb is pivotal for your wig if you are changing your part. The rat tail comb is the one that gets the wig’s parting straight. If you are changing the part from down the middle or to one side or just perfecting your usual part you’ll need the rat tail comb. Use the handle of the “rat tail” to run across the area of the wig that you wish to part.
TEASING COMB
A teasing comb is a comb designed to achieve volume and height by backcombing the hair. It is also used in updos the require lift. It has three or four rows of teeth with varying lengths.
To use the comb, simply pick up the hair and hold it up straight and taut. Then, just run the teasing comb down the stands a few times. You can add as much volume and body as you’d like by repeating the steps. To style your wig with more volume use smaller amounts of hair and increase the amount of strokes with the comb.
